HOW TO TAP INTO YOUR ARTISTRY ON CUE
THE EMBODIED ACTOR
In yoga class, as teachers we use our voice, lighting and music to create an atmosphere that invites the student to relax, which allows them to open up. This could not be further from the experience of say, walking into an audition room with bright lights and all eyes on you. In fact, a huge component of our success as actors is the ability to open up under pressure, NOT ideal circumstances. Therefore, we must approach our practice as establishing a new way of working. By highlighting emotions as the touchstone of our practice, we avoid the pitfall of developing just a mind body connection, which can easily make you more of an observer of your experience rather than a vessel.

"I've known Giada for over a decade. During that time I've been blessed enough to take her movement for actors classes and through these experience, reaped the rewards of her mind/body/artist teaching. Every actor knows that your body is your instrument and being connected to and aware of your body is key to being able to access your emotional life. Giada's relaxed but thorough teaching style is focused on a true body and mind connection in direct application to acting. She's fluid, grounded and a compassionate teacher and any actor would benefit greatly from her practice and study with her."
